June 21, 2007 email from our Collections Curator Ashley Jaques:
Hey All;
We're home! We had a long first night home last night but everything went well today and Dan and Lee are settling in for a nap right now. For those of you who haven't heard Lee was born Saturday June 16th, at 1:00 a.m. He was 5 lbs. 12 oz. and is 19 inches long. I have attached a couple new pictures for those of you who haven't seen him yet. Can't wait for everyone to meet him!
Ash

A San Diego Photographers Club baesdphotoclub put up a gallery of pictures taken at our Museum. Another gallery taken at Carlsbad Flower Fields is mostly closeups of flowers, but there are a few pictures of us and our equipment. This is their PBase Home Page with links to all of their galleries.

Don't know his name but he will sleep tonight in an Indian Teepee and demonstrate flint napping Saturday.

Above left: Flint Napper. Above right: here comes Virgil White with our 1930 Boulder Dam Model Euclid Below: Virgil stopped and asked me if I had seen Connie Morton. To which I said no. Virgil told me to tell Connie when I see her that The Giant is ready. Then Virgil drove off: bottom left below.

Above right: Bob Swaim, right, dispensing free cold drinks of your choice. Below right: Here is that Flint Napper in line again, Mike Stevens Home Made John Deere Ice Cream. Tonights selections Vanilla, Chocolate and Chocolate Chip. I tasted all three. All three were very good, each with a unique fresh flavor.

Above right: Jerry Haas of Blue Grass Camping Coordinator fame. Below left: I did not recognize Earl Wolfe at first without his beard. Below right: Colleen McCune with her husband Paul McCune behind her.

Above left: Live on Attendants Connie Morton -- teal blue top -- and her husband Cecil Morton. Above right: Connie Morton. I told Connie what Virgil told me too. I suspect there will be a skit during our Saturday parade involving Virgil and our Euclid and Connie. Keep an eye out. Below left: left to right Sharon Martin - black tee shirt, Jean Schnell, George Bohn, Jeanette Stevens, Ken Jewell.

Below: Virgil white finally showed up at our feed and told me that while searching for a vee belt for our Euclid he ran across a humming bird nest in a strange place. So he lead me over and showed me. See it?
