Pictures and captions Greg Hayden. Friday evening June 15, FREE!! Hot Dog Dinner for everyone on our grounds. Top, top left the dogs on Jack Lesters
brand new grill. Jack said he just bought it @ CostCo and it is his, but AGSEM is where it will be mostly used. Above, in blue

show tee shirts to Hot Dog Dinner attendees.
Above right and below right our President Jeanette Stevens in Pink John Deere shirt. Opposite her in white tee

delicious Home Made Ice Cream. I will get pictures of Mike's Ice Cream Maker tomorrow.

Since Jake
Williams is leaving California today, June 15, to pursue his destiny 3,000 miles away in
Corning, New York; the new Volunteer responsible for our Advance is John Alling,
Steam Team honcho Dean Alling's brother. Pictures above left and right, that is John on the left side of our Advance,
Eric McConnon steering on the right side.
We had reported a month ago that our 1902 Advance would not be under steam during our spring
show, due to a boiler leak. Take a look at Hartford 2007 Traction Engine Boiler Inspections.
Pictures row 4 right and row 5 left show the leaking nipple. We had no idea for sure if this was a nipple screwed into
the tube sheet, or a piece of pipe welded to the tube sheet. This nipple was the boiler's original main steam outlet. Circa
1930's it was cut off and capped, with a new main steam outlet through the top of the steam dome.

Well. It is a nipple screwed into the tube sheet. Dean Alling, who took the above picture June 15, said:
We used a cutting torch to cut the inside off and then some heat and a hammer to collapse the pipe inward and
save the threads. Our Hartford
Steam Boiler Insurance Company local rep Bill Rozokat came back today and witnessed a new hydro, and gave his stamp of approval
on our inhouse repair, and so here it is operating Friday evening. 6PM Friday June 15 Dean Alling picture below of
Jake Williams on one last nostalgic drive of our 1902 Advance
that Jake poured so much of himself into these past few years.
