Our sawmill being constructed mostly of soft wood, over the years termites have had a field day. Slowly various
pieces crumbled away, and were replaced. When we decided to build our new Assembly building on this site, we took
our sawmill apart and it now is in storage. In use we powered our sawmill with a long leather belt from either a gas or steam
tractor pulley. First three pictures photographer unknown, the rest by Greg Hayden.
The two pictures above, and lower left were taken before we took down our sawmill roof.
The two pictures above, and lower left you can see the Indian River Grist Mill. These sawmill pictures were
taken the same day our Grist Mill pictures were taken. February 7, 2004, the day we moved
Virgils Grist Mill but earlier in the day. You also can see our Farmhouse, and further away our School of Times Past.
Lower right: notice the wooden pulleys.
