Message from the President Jeanette Stevens
We are off and rolling for another fun and exciting year! It is going to be a great year for our
Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum. Our events calendar is filling up quickly.
We participated at the eighth
annual Valley Center Ag Day at Gang Ranch on March 14th. Four Jeanette Stevens pictures below:

Over 2200 K-6 grade students spent the day rotating
through presentations at the various booths and displays. I would like to thank Bill Rafnel, Mary D'Amelio,
Darrell Wilt Guadalupe Romero and Roy Romero for their weaving and spinning display. Bob Morley for bringing
and operating the gas engine show trailer. Mrs. Whimplewort (a.k.a. Connie Morton) teaching the kids about
school days of times past, right down to the dunce hat, proudly modeled by Cecil Morton, and Jeanette Stevens
with quilts and hand crank sewing machines.
Flower Fields are open and wagon rides are up and going. Thank you to all the volunteers and certified drivers.
If you would like to volunteer please contact Barb Watson to schedule a time. We also have a display with
antique tractors and an engine show trailer.
Check out
FOX 6 News in San Diego,
Click on Day Trippin and see Bob Morley driving a wagon at the Carlsbad Flower Fields. Great advertising for us!!
Other events on the 2008 calendar are the Blacksmith Conference in April and Vista Gem and Mineral Show in
October. We will also again be hosting Civil War, Antiques and Collectibles Auctions, Summergrass, and the
Bluegrass Jam. AGSEM will be having displays at Tulare, Flower Fields, Heritage Day, Del Mar Fair and
possibly at Bates Nut Farm. Last but not least our June and October shows.
Don’t forget to get your
Show Registration form in early. This helps in assigning display areas and getting exhibitor packets ready.
With all these events coming up we sure could use help getting things organized for the events, working the
events and cleaning up after the events. Many hands make light work. Besides it is a great way to meet
other members, while lending a helping hand. If you would like to volunteer to help at the shows,
events, and with displays off the museum grounds, please contact me,

Bluegrass volunteers contact Ashley by August 11th.
If you are attending an event or part of a camping group, stop by the office and pick up flyers,
registration forms and museum information to take with you to invite others to visit us.
You are encouraged and invited to attend our monthly board meetings. Your ideas and input are greatly
appreciated. If you would like to address the Board of Trustees on a matter that concerns you, or plan
an event at the museum, etc. please contact me
or
Museum Director, Rod Groenewold
at least ten (10) days prior to the next scheduled board meeting to be placed on the agenda.
Thank you again for your support and participation to continue the successful ways of our Museum.

FARMHOUSE
Jeanette Stevens
The ladies are busy getting ready for the show. A patriotic quilt is our raffle for 2008. Stop by and get
your raffle tickets. The drawing will be held in October.
Since I will be out and about at times during the show, I am asking for some extra volunteer help with
selling quilt raffle tickets. Let me know
if you would like to help out. You are welcome to bring in a project you’re working on. It does not
have to even involve sewing.
Could be knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, etc. It all makes for a good
demonstration in the Parlor. Ladies are always curious as to what your project is. Never know, could get
others to think about finishing or even starting a new one. We always have a fun time in the Farmhouse.
Looking forward to a great show!
