Message from the President’s Corner…..
Jeanette Stevens

We find ourselves at the end of another year! How time flies when you are having fun!!

It has been a great year for the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum. All the events throughout the year have been very successful and membership is at an all time high.

The October show proved to be another fun and exciting time. Thank you to all exhibitors for setting up great displays. We had over 100 registered displayers. Thank you too to the groups exhibiting in October. They include
EDGT&A Branch 22, Antique Auto and Truck Clubs, Antique Fire Trucks, IH Chapter 14 and Poway Station All Scale Model Railroad.

A thank you goes to all of our food service volunteers for providing delicious menus, as well as, to the Weavers, Blacksmiths/Wheelwrights, Gas Engine Row, Steam Engine Row, Steam Team, Short Track Railroad, and Farmhouse Ladies for giving wonderful demonstrations and goodies to eat. Also thank you to those working in the Gift Shop, at the Threshing and Sorghum Pressing demonstrations, Gristmill, Train and Tractors rides for the kids. I probably forgot someone, so THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for your time and commitment to the AGSEM.

I would like to welcome to the Board of Trustees Scott Fraser and Gary Clare. Two trustees, Jake Williams and Walter Britton, resigned their positions, each with term limits still remaining. Thank you Jake and Walter for your service. Both Scott and Gary were willing to serve. Thank you and we look forward to your input and working with you on the board in the years ahead.

With the year coming to a close, planning is underway for next year. Our first activity of the New Year will be our Annual Membership Meeting to be held January 19, 2008. The nominating committee is forming a slate to fill the four vacancies that will occur on our Board of Trustees next year. Reaching term limits are: Chuck Day, Bob Morley, Robert Richardson, and myself. As of this writing, candidates that will run for these positions are: George Bohn, Jack Lester, Bob Morley, Robert Richardson, and myself, Jeanette Stevens.

If you would like to become a candidate, please contact me. We are also looking for Office Volunteers that could commit to a set schedule. Say one day every week or certain days of a month. The main goal here is to have someone greet visitors stopping by the Museum for a self- tour, or even renew a membership. Ashley and Rod will also be in the office to help answer questions. Training will be provided. Contact Jeanette, Rod or Ashley if you are interested in helping out. A friendly hello to welcome visitors and members is always appreciated.

Also, we will have an agenda at the Members Annual Meeting and Trustee Election January 19th, 2008. Potluck luncheon starts at 12:00 noon with a call to order at 1:00pm. If you would like to be placed on the agenda, please submit at least ten (10) days prior to the meeting to   or   There will be an open forum before the meeting is adjourned.

Finally, I would like to thank you for your support, ideas, and participation in the many events and activities we had this year. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated. Members support and participation is the reason for our Museums continued success.

Happy Holidays!!
