Present Position with Museum: I have been a member since 1988 and active since 1991 serving seven
years on the Board of Trustees from 1999 through 2006. Much of my time has been spent on Steam Engine Row
maintaining and repairing, installing and improving the display. I also have worked in Food Service for
the past four years. In addition I have adopted and restored the Museum’s 1946 Oliver Industrial 70
and currently restoring the Museum’s 1931 Oliver Hart-Parr 18-28. This past year I served as secretary
for the Museum’s “Your Remembrance Program”
Personal History: Grew up in a small Northern Illinois farm town. After high school I worked four
years as a draftsman, followed by four years in the US Air Force as an Electronics Installation Technician.
Are you currently employed or retired: Retired
Work Experience and Education: After finishing college I worked sixteen years as an Industrial Arts
Teacher, then nine years as a High School Vice Principal and finished my career as Principal of San
Bernardino Adult School nine years.
Special Skills or Expertise: Because of my background and training I could say that I am a “jack of
all trades” and “master of none.”
Community Service: Currently serve as Personnel Commissioner for the San Bernardino City Unified
School District and on the Board of Directors for the Scholarship Association and the Light House for
the Blind. I belong to the American Legion and the B.P.O. Elks.
What can you contribute for the benefit of the Museum: Continue my support of our Museum’s Mission,
Goals and Objectives.
