Dean Alling, left, operates his Minnie in our Sunday June 24 Show Parade
Boy did we keep busy this show! Starting at 9:00 am with the Advance providing power for the Sorghum press
followed by Rock crushing and Byron working on his Buzz saw. More rock crushing after parade and more Buzz
sawing and then a Spark show just after dark.
We had three different Traction engines on the Rock crusher
this show. It is fun to watch the people as a large rock gets tossed into the jaws of the crusher. Even
the biggest and hardest rocks go through it like they were ice cubes. Except for the sound you would not
know it was working at all, but what a sound.
Have you ever chewed an ice cube in your mouth? It sounds
like that except the ground shakes! We get some pretty big eyes around Virgil’s rock crusher!

Again this show we used the boiler on the CASE to provide steam for the Road Rollers engine. I spent some
time working out a few kinks in the engine works and have it running pretty well. With that done we are
turning to the cosmetic part of the restoration.
Since the show we have spent time getting the boiler on the road roller ready for paint. That will go a
long way in making it look better. From there we can add a few small but important bits to get ready for
the State inspection. That is a milestone I have been looking for since the roller arrived several years ago!
