I walked into this Canning Beets project in our Clubhouse Kitchen (below) late Saturday afternoon May 5, 2007. The dude facing camera in top left pic is Paul Kuns, right after he returned from town, where our ladies sent him to purchase more canning jars; as they were running out. Then Paul took on scullery duty. You can see some of their many finished jars on the counter behind them. Below right, and bottom, left to right: Irene Stearns, Bea Griffey, Myrna Bagge on the end. Valerie, Mrs Patrick Myers; Sharon, Mrs Virgil White with Beet red fingers.

I took the above picture of the Breakfast crowd lined up @ 7:49AM June 21, 2003. The first of our 4,000 sq.ft. buildings, this one is used for many purposes. I took the eighteen pictures below January 17, 2004 at our Annual Membership pot luck lunch meeting and election of officers. Each year four (of twelve) Museum Trustee terms expire and they must either be re-elected or another member elected to replace them. Term limits restrict the length of time one person can serve before they must step aside for awhile.

In these four pictures above and below you can see our sub zero walk in freezer in the corner. Yes. There are two lines. The right facing folks are waiting to pick up their election ballots, the left facing folks are in line to pick up their lunch. You can also see a model of our new Entertainment Stage in the top left picture, and you will see it again in pictures below. Above right: you can see our storage loft above the kitchen. This loft goes all the way to the West end of the building. The pipe railings are easily removed and palletized stuff is put up there and taken down with a fork lift truck.

Above right: You can see our serious wood burning Clubhouse heater. It is a Jumbo size double barrel stove. The fire is in the bottom drum, and the products of combustion move upward into the double sided upper drum. The products of combustion move between the outer and inner shell radiating in to the room and we have an electric blower that moves air thru the longitudinal inner opening. It does a good job heating our 4,000 sq.ft. non insulated metal building. Lower right: Behind that bulletin board wall is one of our work shops complete with metal shaper, drill press and lathe; and some hardware supplies. You can see more storage in the loft above.

In my role as Ignitor editor I am always on the lookout to get pictures of members who contribute articles. I TRY to put a recent picture of writers with their Ignitor articles. Above right: Harrieta & Coy Silverthorne, Harrieta occasionally contributed. Below you can see the other side of our Clubhouse. All those plastic boxes contain Weavers supplies. Each year for our Annual Meeting our floor looms are moved over to our Museum building. Usually they are shoved up against these boxes, except on Thursdays when our Weavers meet here and weave. We have a new 5,000 sq.ft. Weavers Barn in process. The building is roofed and enclosed and the floor installed but lacks electric wiring, fire suppression sprinklers, doors and windows; a rest room and a heater.

Below right: Our Director Rod Groenewold delivers his State of our Museum annual report. Which then appears in print in our February Ignitor. You see the model of our new Entertainment Stage. All that day I was running back and forth between this meeting and outside where the Timber Frame folks from Palomar College were assembling our new stage, taking pictures at both locations.

During Show in the day time our Clubhouse becomes our Bake Shop. Note the pies in front of Valerie ready to go in the oven. Our Bake Shop and Farmhouse volunteers make and bake a LOT of pies before, and during show, for sale in our Bake Shop. Our Bake Shop also sells soft serve ice cream, so you can have a piece of pie ala mode.
