Museum Volunteer Weaver Patricia Pollard
said "The music was wonderful. Besides "blues", the bands played a little rock, zydeco and country music."
Above the Bayou Brothers on stage. Below the Food Truck.
That is one of our decades long Volunteers, Virgil White -- tan cap white tee shirt -- back to camera ordering his meal
in the below right picture.
Above
Chet and the Committee on stage, while below some in the audience dance.
Above left Museum Staff and Volunteers form up in front of Gas Engine Row, to run mini parades
during the intermissions, between each musical group. Above right some of the audience brought their own shade,
others availed themselves of our parachute shade. Below left that is Tom Garrison, who then was Trustee President,
standing on our stage, providing comment during a parade. That is our 1912 Museum Owned 60HP -- 45 KW -- CASE S/N 27462
Steam Traction Engine operated by Trustee Secretary Jake Williams, below right.
Above Bill Magee on stage.
Below left Trustee and Construction Superintendant Pat Myers operates a vintage John Deere tractor.
Below right Live On Attendant Cecil Morton operates a Farmall.
Virgil White again, here operating his own 1924 Mack model AC Bulldog. With a top
speed of 45 mph -- down hill with a tail wind -- steep uphill speeds slowed to a crawl. Stiff from sitting there riding,
drivers would step down and walk alongside. As Virgil demonstrates below. This came to be known as Walking the Dog.
Each intermission, after our mini parade, Trustee Vice President Bob Morley -- above left on the tractor seat,
would take a hay wagon load of visitors on a free short tour of our grounds. I joined this tour. Lower right in the back of
the wagon Live On Attendant Keith Richards replaces the steps safety chain.
Above left Tom Garrison again on stage. This is owner and operator Dean Allings
beautifully restored 1920 20HP -- 15 KW -- The Minneapolis Threshing Machine Co. Steam Traction Engine.
Learn more about our Steamers. Below the last act of the day, The Queen of
Steam Michele Lundeen.
