Are you available?
Before each show the campground requires preparation to mark out the campsites. The major lining of the sites
is usually done using tractors the weekend prior to the event.
Because during the Summergrass Bluegrass Festival,
* we offer some sites with electric,
* and these sites are presold as reserved sites,
* and the main campground is considered prime sites (it traditionally fills completely within
the first 24 hours of being open)
some extra care is necessary to assure we have accurate placement of the physical locations in respect
to the map we use when selling the sites in advance.
Although most of the proceeds from the campground go to AGSEM, in the past years Red Bradshaw, together
with Dorothy and Don Langdon, along with volunteers from the bluegrass clubs have arrived about a week
and a half before the Summergrass Festival and laid out the campground setup in preparation for the
tractors that come to line the campground on the weekend prior to the festival. This makes the task
easier for the AGSEM volunteers to do their job on the tractors. (Thank you Fredrickson’s for driving
the tractors to line the campground in the past. Hope you choose to continue.)
For the 2008 Summergrass festival, because Red Bradshaw has suffered a stroke in the past year, and
the Langdon’s do not plan to be in town at that time, help from these people is not likely to be available.
Consequently the bluegrass community is turning to AGSEM for more help in setting up the campground.
So here’s the plea: If you are able to spend some time at AGSEM starting Wednesday August 13, 2008 through
Wednesday August 20, 2008 your help is desperately needed. We need two people to act as “lead” for the whole
time, while a second (and/or third) team of two people can be in shifts of a half day or longer. It is
assumed you will be working hand in hand with volunteers of the bluegrass clubs, sharing the load of preparation.
If you think you are able to help in this activity, even for a half day; please let it be known to Jerry Hass.

The volunteer coordinator for Summergrass Festival 2008 is Becky Green

Thank you in advance for your thoughts on this matter.
